Nikki -- or anyone: do you know of any safety and efficacy studies that
support the use of bottlefeeding in babies?

Dear Friends:
    What lovely questions Jan asks.
We do know, from the work of Paula Meier, that bottle feeding is
stressful for premature infants.
I am reminded of a situation Kay Hoover encountered at a hospital where
she was the LC. She wanted to institute cup feeding (which has loads of
studies supporting its use) and was told she couldn't, because there was no
policy. She asked, in her sincere and loving way, if there was a bottle feeding
policy! (There wasn't!)
    warmly,
