Sears et al used infants who had been breastfed as little as six weeks.
This study was thoroughly discussed on this list and should have many
posts in archives. I found it all particularly embarrassing as he is
affiliated with my local university and world renowned respiratory
disease clinic.

And do a simple search on Breastfeeding and Asthma, you'll get a host of
results, many from more recent studies than the one you quoted.
Sears' study is a classic case of the article not really saying what it
is reported to have said.
