My understanding is that the US Breastfeeding Committee is made up of a
variety of governmental organization besides people from ILCA. (according to their
website) One of those members is the DHHS/Health Resources and Services
Administration. The same organization run by Secretary. of Health, Tommy
Thompson. Who represents Tommy's department at the US Breastfeeding Committee
meetings? If the US Breastfeeding Committee writes a letter to Tommy, then obviously
Tommy's Department must abstain or protest over what is written. Why doesn't
the US Breastfeeding Committee boot this governmental organization off their
Committee? This governmental body is obviously into token support of
breastfeeding.(if that) What is the relationship between the US Breastfeeding
Committee and the DHHS/Health Resources and Services Administration? Are their
minutes available of meetings and is the public welcome to them?
