Thanks for posting, Karen. In fact, my own opinion is that mothers
'should' feel free to eat what they like, on the whole! It was the
father who was concerned. I am quite sure that today's junk food is
not as wholesome or as nourishing as fresh, non-manufactured,
non-prepackaged foods, though. I think your question to put to
parents is a good one - 'if this is a concern for you, then yes, you
will prefer to abstain from eating any E numbers, but there is no
evidence that avoiding them will enable you to breastfeed any more
successfully, in terms of having enough milk to nourish your baby.'
