"the baby was latching and feeding but at two days of age the baby was so fussy
and hungry, I was not getting any sleep so I called the pediatrician who said
to give her formula, so we gave her a bottle which worked like a charm, but
then the next day she refused to breastfeed, ...so how can I get her to
breastfeed again?"
only problem is many parents really don't appreciate the "risks" of formula
feeding and are happy to continue not breastfeeding
when I get- "the nurse in the hospital told me that I have to supplement because
my baby is big (8+ lbs)" and I say, "well, that was incorrect advice" those
parents chose not to come to me any more!
every pediatric journal and news magazine (AAP news, Pediatric News, Infectious
Disease) has these full page ads from formula companies "Proven to solve most
feeding problems" !
