What a sad situation!
Here are some suggestions about what you might want to say to this
mother. "You're a mother whose heart will be breastfeeding even if your
body can't. Your baby is lucky to have someone who genuinely wants to do
what is best for him. The fact that you wanted to breastfeed and you are
sad about it is just one of the ways I can tell what a loving mother you
are." Then talk about other ways you have noticed her showing her love
to her baby -- holding, walking, gazing in his eyes, etc. Talk about how
she can "bottle-feed like a breastfeeding mother."
