The store at the hospital where I used to work sells Lilly Padz. One of
the other LC's has a daughter who is breastfeeding and working and she
loved them, so that's why they started selling them. I also got a
sample as a result of the conference and I can see why. In fact, a
mother I was just working with was going to suggest them to a friend who
is getting ready to go back to work and has a real problem with leaking.
They are supposed to work by "clinging" to the nipple so that milk
doesn't escape. Milk shouldn't be collecting under the pad or pooling
somewhere so that yeast is a danger. They look like they would be great
for wearing under swimsuits or a top that conventional pads would be too
obvious under. As far as I know, there hasn't been a problem with them
for the mothers who bought them through this store, but then it's been a
while since I inquired, so.... Perhaps someone else has other info. I
think they look like a great idea!
Marsha in Indiana, one of the "pink" states on the CDC graphs! ;-(
