Hi Barbara,
I, too, bottle fed my adopted son. Yes, it is the power of love! A
kind older nurse visited me and brought a gift and asked me what kind of
schedule I had him on. I hadn't thought of a schedule, I said to her,
Oh, I just feed him all the time, before his nap and after his nap and
whenever he wants. He finally held his own bottle at 12 months old when
I urged him to from the front of the car while on vacation. I should
have had him on a cup but didn't know better 15 years ago with first
baby.
The parenting umbrella is bigger than the feeding method. Yes, I
wish he had gotten breast milk, but at the time I didn't how healthy it
was. I hoped to induce lactation but found out I was pregnant just
after he was born; after several miscarriages I didn't want to take a
chance of causing uterine contractions. When he was 8 mos. old we had a
biological daughter! They are now 15 and 14 and close friends.
     That's my story.
