all those "free gifts from the formula companies........ I know that
many of you share the same frustrations regarding the free gifts that we
receive from the formula manufacturers and their salespeople. the EGA
wheels, the dilation charts, the tape measures, the crib cards, those
things that many institutions view as, if we can get it for free, than
why should we buy it. So many institutions have been complacent with
this that nurses do not see the gifts as an enticement, so when you get
those free pens, notepads, its okay to be frustrated, its okay to to
lose those pens quickly, (gosh this one didn't write, guess it goes to
the trash) and its okay to vent here. As for the CDC, well, we do need
to make our voices heard, but we should remember that while its okay to
vent here, we should remember that when we discuss problems and a need
for change that we present ourselves as the intelligent, calm qualified
individuals (yes, I remember discussing with a few of you in Arizona at
the ILCA conference that we did occasionally go "mad cow" to our
families, but hey we are humans) that we are. So when we notify the
CDC, or anyone, lets stick together and be smart and polite. Save the
crazy day vents for close friends and fellow netters who know that you
are smart and calm and passionate about breast milk and breastfeeding
