Dr. Brian Palmer, DDS, asked me to post this for him. The July/August 2004
issue of "Sleep Review" includes his guest editorial. In the actual
journal, the side bar states, "OSA/SDB can be prevented by educating
patients about the importance of breastfeeding." (OSA=obstructive sleep
apnea and SDB=sleep-disordered breathing)
The online version is at
http://www.sleepreviewmag.com/Articles.ASP?articleid=S0407D02 or you can
link to it from Dr. Palmer's website www.brianpalmerdds.com under the
"Articles" section.
He also wanted all Lactnetters to know that a brochure about dental caries
to be printed in a few weeks by the MO Dental Association *hopefully* will
*not* have a paragraph linking breastfeeding to caries. He's worked hard to
have that removed (where's the evidence?) and hopes the brochure gets
national (and more) exposure.
With newly-cleaned teeth today <g>,
