All the suggestions have been very good. My suggestion would be that instead
of asking "do you refer moms who need breastfeeding help?" -- I would ask
for a list of those IBCLCs or LLL Leaders whom the pediatrician recommends
or refers mothers to. It is easy to say breastfeeding is best but when it
comes down to solving bf difficulties, my experience is that many just
recommend feeding formula. Someone truly committed to breastfeeding is going
to urge the mom to get help and provide the names of those who can help her.
(Besides it is good to have information about local LLL Leaders and IBCLCs
before giving birth.)

Also, check out the doctor's waiting room and individual patient rooms for
formula samples. I quit one pedi just because I was sick of the free formula
samples everywhere I looked. Even in the "breastfeeding mothers waiting
room" there were free formula samples or ads.
