i'm wondering if the tub she's being fed through is large enough? some
babies just need more feedback at first to keep it up.

what kind of positive reinforcement is she getting at the breast?
syringe? tube?

the fact that she'll go to breast at all is wonderful. since she will
do even the briefest of latches there, and does suck 'a few times' i'd
do whatever is possible to get her to have a feed there. pump a few
mins first so that milk is 'right there'.....then during fee, have
another personholding a syringe at breast, or teach mom to do it (most
easily accomplished in a footballhold.......baby going, or getting mom a
larger tube so that baby can get immediate feedback, then when she's
going mom can stop the

i find that when these babies get enough food fast enough, they suddenly
become good feeders, are not sleepy while feeding and w/in a few feeds
figure out the breast. breast compression helps
significantly.......deep very asymmetrical latch......nipple sandwhich
etc etc
