As it happens, I know many mothers personally in Singapore who do put
breastmilk in milo (a chocolate flavoured malt drink, something like
ovaltine), or rather, they add milo to the breastmilk to make it more
palatable for older children to drink. Mothers express their milk and give
it to their older children bc one of the main emphases of breastfeeding and
breastmilk in Singapore is 'increasing intelligence' in what is a very
competitive society.

In Australia, where I grew up, Milo is almost a staple drink for children.
It is so popular and common in Australia that I know people who do Nestle
bans except for Milo.

BMSG(S) [Breastfeeding Mothers' Support Group (Singapore)] has no links with
Nestle - they are very knowledgeable of, and careful with regard to, the WHO
code on marketing of breastmilk subsitutes, and would be quite horrified
were they inadvertently involved.

It is great that Jilyn and Kimberley's message comes across despite how
poorly the original newspaper article was written (imho). As an aside, this
is not uncommon in Singapore journalism, regretably.
