My first child, at about four months of age, went on a nursing strike from
midmorning to early afternoon each day. He was very crabby and
disconsolate; wanting to nurse but arching and fighting away after a sip.
When I expressed my milk, it smelled like freshly mowed lawn and was green
tinged. I traced it to the alfalfa based vitamin I had started taking, and
the problem resolved quickly when I stopped taking them. I'm sure not all
babies react that way...
