>Breastfeeding (UK & US) = Nursing (US)
>Nursing (UK) = working as a nurse
In the UK, the word *nursing* is also used in the sense of *comforting.* A grandmother, for example, might nurse her grandchild by holding/rocking etc. It was quite startling to have a friend offer to nurse my baby while we were visiting in the UK!
