This is really funny. I was taught 1 cup water and 1/2 tsp salt. I know
this has been discussed on Lactnet before, so I went goggling and found:
1 cup water and 1/4 to 1/2 tsp salt and pinch of baking soda as the recipe
:-)

The only thing I can find for sure is that you need to make it fresh each
