A while back I mentioned an article about safe sleep and SIDS. This is
the reference:
Iyasu et al. Risk factors for sudden infant death syndrome among northern
plains Indians. JAMA 2003 Jan 15;289(3):303.
Also, regarding co-sleeping and SIDS these articles by James J. McKenna
are excellent:
1) Evolution and the sudden infant death syndrome. Part I: Infant
responsivity to parental contact. Human Nature, Vol.1, No.2, pp.145-147.
2) Evolution and the sudden infant death syndrome. Part II: Why human
infants? Human Nature, Vol. 1, No. 2, pp.179-206.
3) Evolution and the sudden infant death syndrome. Part III. Infant
arousal and parent-infant co-sleeping. (This is co-written with Sarah
Mosko). Human Nature, Vol.1, No.3,pp.291-330.
