I worked with a client who is 8 wks PP, diabetic on an insulin pump. She
says her insulin needs are lower than pre-natally, but several times her
sugar has plummeted in the afternoon to the 30's. She wondered if I'd
heard of that or knew a reason for it?

She has struggled with yeast--after nistatin and gentian violet didn't do
the job, the doctor's RX for diflucan was not enough, as per Jack
Newman's protocol. She is going to get more, to wipe out the yeast
because after a week of diflucan (200 mg loading and 100 mg/day) her
nipples are still itchy. She has also let baby daughter get into bad
latching habits and is now determined to get back on track. This is 2nd
child and she nursed #1 with no difficulties.

Anyone have any insight into the low sugars?

Warmly,
Pat Bucknell IBCLC
