Perhaps it would help to understand that Milo is not "just" a brand name, it
is almost a generic term (at least in Australia) for a powdered chocolate
drink.  Somebody already mentioned this - that Milo is very common in
Australia, and even Nestle-free homes have it (yes - I admit, it is
practically the only Nestle product in my home!)

You could compare it to "Coke" - people might offer a coke - they don't
necessarily mean Coca Cola, they could mean any cola drink.  Or, apparently
in some states of the US, any soft drink (soda, pop)  - It is more than just
a brand name, it has become the generic term for cola drinks.

Hope this helps in understanding, although I can see your concern with the
Nestle/fortified Milo link.
