Re: Elective c-sections (below is a good letter on the topic which refers
to affect on breastfeeding)
This is a hot topic in Canada, too.
In the March 2, 2004 issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal an
article by Dr. Hannah suggests that the Society of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC) will be publishing parallel guidelines to
those of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists regarding
elective c-sections.
Dr. Pierre Lévesque, who represents SOGC on the Breastfeeding Committee for
Canada, has written a response to Dr. Hannah’s paper. His response can be
found at http://www.cmaj.ca/cgi/eletters/170/5/813#868
