I always seethe a little at any statement that says a woman staying home to
raise children isn't "working". In our society the attitude is so strong
that if you don't get a paycheck, what you're doing isn't important. I
still don't get why if you receive money to care for someone else's kids you
are a productive member of society, but if you care for your own without
being paid money for it, you aren't "working". We sure have a screwed up
attitude to parenting!
