would hold her very tight, while her body shook wildly. >

Reminds me of the kind of violent shivering I used to see on the delivery
table or in recovery, of women who had certain meds for spinal
anesthetics. We kept blankets warming at all times, and for these moms,
they came in especially handy. The OB's usually tried to pass it off as
'the body's reaction to the sudden change of pressures inside the abdomen
now that the fetus had been expelled.' But I never saw it in those moms
who had general anesthetics, novocaine for stitches, or no anesthetics.
