I'm watching one of those animal planet police shows, where they rescue
animals who have been abused.  A premature colt is born, and the vet is
talking about how important it is to get colostrum into the baby and how
that will protect the baby and will likely allow it to live, because
without the colostrum the baby, being premature, might die.  He talks on
this for a good 60 seconds, about antibodies, protection from disease,
etc.

Too bad we don't have this attitude and knowledge in the human hospitals.
