Anytime you have contact with a health professional who needs a little education, you have a golden opportunity. For these ignorant folks, get a copy of LLL's _Breastfeeding Makes a Difference_ to share with them. Send it with a nice note (the old make a sandwich method -- say something nice, tell them the nasty details, end with something nice!)
and hope someone takes the time to read it.
I always preface it by noting that I don't have time to keep up with everything in my field, and how difficult it must be for them. You can tell my mother's favorite saying was, "You get more flies with honey than with vinegar." (Actually her very favorite is, "It takes all kinds!" - but we won't go there.)
