I believe one of our lactnetters (Dutch?) has posted an effective strategy
for oversupply which involves expressing completely at least once each day
(instead of expressing to comfort) to manage oversupply. I think that would
definitely help your client who probably has breasts that are just not well
drained often. Therefore she has milk stasis, the first step to a mastitis.
Sometimes a clean catch milk specimen is cultured but I think she would be
most helped by complete emptying.
While this may seem a bother and an extra step, her supply may eventually
tamp down over time, and in the meantime she would have plenty of milk in
her freezer which is always a plus. (assuming she has a freezer :) which she
may not.
