BARB WROTE"
"One of the things that the L & D RN's would like is some suggestions for a
short and sweet conversation about feeding choices when they admit the
mother. Right now, they just ask how she is planning to feed the baby."
Hi Barb-
I've been working at hospitals and doing BF ed for along time- what I like to
ask is:
"Are you planning to feed your baby HUMAN MILK or a SUBSTITUTE? (Pause) ..If
you are not sure, I can tell you without a doubt that your baby is HUMAN and
his body is designed for HUMAN MILK, and not a substitute. " And then if they
are interested, I add that we would love to help her learn how, as we love to
see the babies get healthy food.
