Ellen,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. For those who haven't the time
to access medscape, the article is about new US Government policy in regard
to who may speak to the World Health Organization. This policy means that the
WHO must first ask the US Health & Human Services Department for permission
to speak to scientists and the Department will decide who will respond. Some
40 presentations by American scientists planning to attend the International
AIDS Society conference in Bangkok next month were cut.
The title of the article is "US Charged with Silencing Scientists."
My...this is the same US government institutiton that muted the Breastfeeding Ad
Campaign. There seems to be an agenda and that agenda isn't about finding truth,
it's about muzzling the truth in order to serve an agency. Eye opening in that
it is this institution that is the assignee to the patent on hiv testing
(Gallo as the inventor) and is also assigned the patent on human lactoferrin to
treat hiv/aids (Teng one of the inventors). These patents( there are others)
owned by US Department of Health Human Services means that they have an
investment in testing for hiv/aids and in its treatment. Of course that wouldn't be
too bad, until we take a hard look at the history of hiv/aids theory. The
history of hiv isolation and Gallo's discovery (Margaret Heckler was Sceretary of
HHR at that time, dramatic announcement) is somewhat astounding in terms of
how scientific discovery is suppose to work. It is quite unusal to publicly
announce a scientific discovery before publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
Gallo published some time after this announcement. In 1992 there was a Board of
Federal Inquiry into Gallo's discovery and it was determined that he had
stolen both the blood test and virus from Dr. Luc Montagnier, a French scientist.
Is American science about finding the truth or about a government
institution's "investment" and monopoly on it's "truth?"
