I believe women who are denied the experience of holding their slippery-wet
newborn are missing out on one of the most delightful moments of childbirth.

I believe that cradling that still-wet baby triggers an instinctive
mothering response similar to that of mammals that lick their newborns,
along with the sight, sound, and smell of the infant of course.
