If you don't like the bank account one (and I wish it was like
that!!), how about the laundry basket one?
It works if you have teenagers.
The more quickly you remove the dirty stuff from the laundry basket,
the quicker it fills.
Teens see an empty or emptying laundry basket, and this is a
physiological spur, that 'tells their bodies' to fill it (often with
garments they have worn for a few minutes, but maybe that's just my
family....).
If you leave the laundry basket untouched for a while so the laundry
piles up, this 'tells their bodies' to stop putting in more of the
dirty stuff, so the production cycle of dirty-clean-dirty laundry
slows down.
Amazing, ain't it?
