Looking at this website for a friend whose daughter suffers from Crohns
disease, I scrolled down to find a link for breastmilk harboring this
organism, Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP). Could this
be a reason for some babies bloody diarrhea via breastmilk feeding? I could
not pull anything up from Archives with the word Crohns today, so I do not
know if it was posted already in 2001, when the News Release came out. I
also wonder if this bacteria is in infant formula, as pasteurization has not
been shown to kill all of the organisms.
