I have seen alot written on human milk "components" to treat and prevent
cancers.(patents in the US patent office) There is an interesting article written
in India's national newspaper about 4 years ago, called "The molten globule
in milk helps prevent cancer." (about the research done by Hakansson, Svensson,
Svanborg, Sabhanwal from Lund University, Sweden) see
http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/2000/05/11/stories/08110004.htm
Human milk is certainly noted for it's ability to help those who are
undergoing chemo treatments for cancer. I do believe, though, it is the individual
components in human milk that researchers and companies are focused on in
regard to cancer treatments. It is the protein, alpha-lactalbumin, in human milk
that is discussed in the article of The Hindu. Some researchers are looking
at Human Milk Fat globule (HMFG), lactoferrin, and other various proteins in
human milk as treatment or prevention for various cancers.
