So frustrating! I don't even know why, the minute breastfeeding is brought
up that is automatically the "problem"!! On a personal note, one of my
children who was born weighing 7lbs, 11oz , hit 19.6 lbs at 6 months then
stopped gaining. I was small 5' 3'' 100lbs so the peds didn't worry too
much. Once he hit a year he was still under 20 lbs and it was suggested that
we add whole mik, ice cream-tons of fattening stuff. We did for about a
month but it made no difference. Luckily our peds had her own child who was
very thin also. And over the years both of our boys stayed thin. My son is
now almost 11 and weighs 74lbs at about 4' 8"-the same weight he's been at
for about almost 2 years. And yes, he nursed until he was 3 but it was never
an issue. And he eats alot too.
Out of my 6 children 3 are very thin. My 9 yo dd barely weighs 55lbs and
wears a size 7. My 7 yo ds is 56lbs but taller than his 9yo sister! The 5yo
dd weighs slightly more (46lbs)as the 2yo ds who is 42lbs. The 12 yo ds is
5' 2'' and weighs 110! Except for the almost 11 yo all of the others hit 20
lbs by 6 months, some by 4 months and continued to gain steadily but then
leveled off around 4. They grow at their own rate!
