For what its worth, in Germany after WWII my mother exclusively breastfed me
and pumped her breasts for another womans baby who gave birth in our
displaced persons camp. It was January and the milk was left for the woman
in bottles on the inside windowsill and was picked up every day-so somewhere
out there I have a milk sibling. I do not know how long this went on, but I
guess until her child got some teeth to eat. My dad told me about it when I
had my first daughter and had plenty of milk, going from -32A to 36DD. He
laughed and said "Just like your mother" because my mother did not need to
wear a bra until pregnant with me. My LLL league leader explained to me how
my mothers body reacted to the double extraction as though she had had
twins.
