Hi Sheila,
Big, big, big pet peeve of mine. Please read, and refer your friend to, Jack Newman's Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers. A glass of wine or mug of beer is no reason not to nurse, nor is wanting one a reason to wean. (all this assuming a typical dyad and not mom getting drunk. common sense.)
