Dear Friends:
    The winter 2004 issue of Journal of Perinatal Education (Vol 13 #1;
authors are Cadwell, Turner-Maffei, Blair et al) has an article about nipple
healing. There was no significant difference in nipple healing between three groups
of mothers with nipple soreness and trauma. One group of mothers received
nothing but corrective intervention (fixing positioning and latch), the second
group of mothers received Lansinoh. shells and corrective intervention, and the
third group of mothers used glycerin gel pads and corrective intervention.
    Interesting. One could conclude that various products aren't any better
than the attention to the basics, i.e. fixing positioning and latch.
    warmly,
