When my oldest son was born in Houston, Texas in 1993 I didn't know much
about bf, except that I knew that I would. After a rough start and
conflicting answers to my bf questions, I told a nurse over the phone that
I was very confused because with the conflicting bf info given from the
different nurses in the same office. I wanted to talk to the doctor.
The doctor told me that my baby was fine and that I should contact LLL for
bf information. At the time I was shocked. But in retrospect it was the
best thing for me and my baby. I so, so appreciate that this doctor
honestly referred me to quality bf help. Over the years I have seen that
this is a very uncommon thing to do.
