Kim asks about group names. We have a New Moms Network which takes all comers, although we have predominantly breastfeeding moms here anyway. Be sure your childbirth prep classes know about it - invite them to come with their new Lamaze friends - we have also had a grand time inviting members of the MCH coalition to present. It's easy to come the first time for a special presentation. (One of our early ed specialists is coming next week to present on "Raising Emotionally Healthy Children" - it's always a big hit, and then moms come again.) Other times we just hangout and talk.
Personal invitation works great - every new mom I see, I invite personally. That personal touch makes a difference - "OH I heard about that group, it's you that leads it?! I'll come!"
