Asacol works mainly locally in gi tract but in adults is associated w/ gi
symptoms, esp watery diarrhea.
Immuran is a powerful immunosuppressive agent and in adults is assoc. w/
bone marrow suppression, anemia, infections, nausea, vomiting, and more.
Since she just started the immuran and so did the infant's symptoms, then it
is a definite possibility that is causing the symtpoms in the infant.
Perhaps the infant could have blood levels tested.
Can mother stop the med? Can an alternate med be used?
Does mother have any pumped milk available (pumped before the new med) to
see if baby would improve on that?
