Hi all - thanks for the replies on alfalfa - I guess I had not given the
possible reactions enough thought. I've been mostly recommending it
because it worked so well as a laxative for me, and with a pretty severe
tear and countless stitches, this was high priority for me ;-). Then to
find it did all these other neat things, well, it seemed ideal... But
after reading your wise points, maybe I'll just recommend it if a laxative
is needed (or - how novel, perhaps just a high-fiber diet...) and also keep
in mind for milk supply.

However, maybe this would be an answer for the mom in the original question
who is concerned w/ jaundice and getting milk to come in faster?

Thanks for the enlightenment.

Kirsten
