Have permission from mother to post. Shortly before conceiving, mom had gastric bypass surgery and was told by drs. that she may not be able
to breastfeed because she is only able to eat very small portions at a time. I told her I would check into this for her, but that I would be surprised
if she would have problems given the fact she was able to eat frequently enough - however small portions -to carry and deliver a healthy 7# 1 oz
baby, and that if I recall correctly, the number of additional calories needed for milk production is much less than originally thought. Has anyone
had experience with this or information to share with this mom and her physicians? Thank you. Mary, LLLL, IBCLC
