I have also in the past tried to get small sample size dish washing soap.I
had contacted the makers of Dawn a long time ago and couldn't get any
support for small containers. I also contacted the two pump companies and
told them this could be a good thing to have available. But no one was
interested. I recently considered the small containers of soap with a
label as well. But until something better comes along, I decided to use
the new Dawn washing sheets to give to my moms who are pumping. I use
about 3 sheets, cut them into squares and place them in a plastic ziploc
bag. I label the bag with directions, there are 12 squares that should
last them until discharge from our unit (48 hrs). I like the dawn sheets
because they have a rough surface on one side that helps remove any
colostrum that has already dried on the pump. You don't have to worry
about spilling, they are very convenient. So I supply the soap sheets
myself and now I use coupons or sales out of the newspaper to cut the cost
a bit. Our needs are small, (1800 deliveries/year and a 18 bed SCN, but if
it becames an expence, I can be reinbursed through the Lactation Program.
I like hearing the many ideas that we can come up with to help moms with
any breastfeeding issues.
