ABSOLUTELY!  I would hope that not only an IBCLC can handle "problems".
Why would you want yourself to be so indispensable and needed, LOL!  As a
long time La Leche League Leader, I've helped solve many problems new
moms encountered with nursing.  Not all problems are medically involved
or require the skills of an IBCLC.  My peer counselors, who have no
certification other than Peer Counselor Training, deal with MOST of the
problems encountered by newly nursing mothers.  If it is something that
goes beyond their experience / knowledge etc. the case is referred to me.


I would suggest to take time making sure that your non IBCLC staff is
really well trained.  Share everything you know with them in a non
threatening way that shows that you are interested in helping them.  I
would also work on a little flyer perhaps that details the service levels
you offer and briefly explains the terminology.  Maybe I'm being
optimistic that someone would actually read it but it's worth a try.
