I have a friend who lives in Tuscany. Her first bf'ing experience
didn't go well and she only lasted six weeks. Whoever she was working
with basically told her she didn't have enough milk and 'oh well' was
the take home msg. They suggested hand expressing after feeds to see
if she could improve supply.

She's due soon with number two. She has excellent family support (ie
help with her 20 mo old, help around the house, cooking/cleaning help
etc). She now feels her issues weren't primary low supply issues, but
poor latch and therefore poor transfer, in large part b/c of marginal
tongue tie.

She really wants a good double electric pump like the PIS-a or PY 'just
in case' there are issues and she needs to work on her supply. She
maintains that there are not pumps available where she will deliver.
Well, there are but that they're only for moms with babies in NICU.
She's concerned about using an american pump with a converter if she
needs to use it frequently/heavily.

Anyone in italy or other european countries have any ideas? Any good
pumps there or elsewhere in the EC that she could buy online? Right
now she thinks the only option is buying a good pump here and have her
mom bring it when she comes.

Also, if anyone knows any good LC's in her area, we'd LOVE to hear about
it

:)
