I need alittle help in a hurry this weekend. I work on a mother baby
unit in Ohio as a staff RN but also am a IBCLC. We have no separate
Lactation program and I have strived to make some changes in our out of
date policies. One policy is separation of baby and mother for maternal
temperature of over 101F. Out of the blue I got a call today to get a list
of recomendations/precautions for breast feeding because a new OB/GYN
would like to change the above policy and wants to copy this info and
distribute it to the physicians to read this Tuesday(2/10). I am elated,
but, the only "list"or chart that I find is the one in the reference
"Breastfeeding, a Guide for the Medical Profession" by Ruth Lawrence. I
wondered if there was a guideline or publication that I could get off the
internet. I find plenty of publications for physicians to promote
breastfeeding. any suggestions? thanks, Joyce
