Hello fellow lactneters,
I am mostly a lurker and value this group of collective wisdom like no
other. I have had a question from a mom to which I can not find an easy
evidenced based answer. She is wondering once she has warmed her EBM and
given a partial bottle to her baby how long is the remaining milk " good" .
Her baby takes part of the bottle, then has a rest and wants the rest
later. Baby is 4 months old. I have discussed warming small amounts at a
time but for convenience she wants a concrete answer as to how long she can
wait before she has to dump out the rest. As you can imagine she is
reluctant to dump her liquid gold but hesitant to give her baby anything
that would not be safe. The literature I have read has not provided me with
the answer. Maybe a concrete time frame does not exist but what do you tell
parents who have this question?
Again thanks for your thoughts on this.
