Here's just an idea. Can't say where I heard it. Haven't tried it myself.
How about using a small piece of dental paraffin on the teeth during feeds?
Remove it afterwards. If it gets swallowed, no problem. It was designed to
pass w/o problems or injury. It's purpose is to protect cheeks and tongue
from the wires of orthodontia. Kids swallow it all the time.
