I am not aware of any guidelines for freezer sizes, however you could do a
little research and write a proposal based on your own nicu's storage needs.
In other words, find out your average census and bf rates, estimate the no.
of ounces of milk that might be in there daily or weekly. Give some reasons
why increased storage capacity would be helpful, like less chance for error
(each baby has their own little bin for milk), and less time w/ the doors
open. If your rates are not very high, you can state your goal is to
increase rate to the recommended 75% or whatever. Good luck and hope you get
the funding.
