Dear All,

I have been NOMAIL for several weeks now but felt inclined to check in. I
wanted to share something that happened a few months ago after I posted a
recap of the ABC Special with Peter Jennings about Obesity in America. I
mentioned in my post that Tommy Thompson seemed unconcerned about the food
industry's role in this issue, and I painted him (according to my opinion of
seeing him being interviewed) as not such a great choice for the Sec of
Health. Shortly after that particular posting to this list I received an
off-list email from a fellow Lactnetter who in **defense** of Sec Thompson
claimed to know that Tommy Thompson was OWED A FAVOR by President Bush and
was consequently appointed Sec of Health. According to this person, he
didn't really even want the position. Interesting...?
