How about "risks of artificial feeding"?

Lara,
That brings up the old query as to what "artificial feeding" means, and how
to use the phrase: for some it means anything other than breastfeeding,
including breastmilk feeding by bottle ( but perhaps not breastmilk supplementation
exclusively at breast.) since bottles are not real, are not breasts. For
others it means " commercial formula" and any other kind, while for others it means
commercial but not individually made home formulations ( made with "natural"
ingredients.) For others the word "artificial" is too jarring and once a
mother hears someone referring to what she wants to feed her baby as
"artificial", they turn off. I sometimes wonder if instead of "formula" ( which is too
accepted now as a positive or benign thing) or "artificial feeding" ( which lacks
recognition as well) we might be saying exactly what the stuff is: Formulated
Human Milk Replacement. That way it seems cleared that "formula" is not
something that stands alone, but only exists to serve as a replacement for the real
thing...
