Sending a follow-up to a previous post on a young woman with recurrent inflamed, painful and intermittently oozing breasts. She sent my colleague this note that I am sharing with you. This young lady has had incisions adjacent to nipple to remove ducts, Incision and drainage for breast abscesses, antibiotic therapy for recurrent inflammation bilaterally.
She has seen an oncologist and was going to next see an endocrinologist. Most recently she was admitted to the ER for pain and an abscess that was incised and drained...Any comments or suggestions? She is not pregnant, never has been, is not on the pill. Please read the following

"I'm actually going to have my prolactin level taken tomorrow. If all is well, my gyne just advised me to do all
that I could to cease my breasts from ever producing milk. She told me to
take 1000 mg of Vitamin E per day, wear the tightest sports bra ever, ice my
nipples, avoid caffeine, and, basically, avoid all nipple stimulation.
That's what I have to go on right now... not very promising. :-) Thanks
again though. Oh, she did say that there would be no point in my seeing an
endocrinologist if my prolactin profile is normal. Does that sound right?"
